The Club has been in the process of renovating the pavilion during the off season - we have been fortunate to receive funding from the Briggs Trust (£2,000), Carnforth Area Regeneration Project (£5,000) and the SITA Trust (£6,000) to allow us to construct an extension forming a new home changing room and to refurbish the existing building. Below are a few photos of the work carried out over the winter.
The next time you go down to the club and see the difference from last year to this, you will appreciate the amount of work that has been put in to transform the pavilion. This is down to four individuals who have been down virtually every Saturday since the end of last season and taken days off work to finish off - Mick Clarkson, Robert Clarkson, Alan Cole and Paul Kellett. Without them this would never have happened.
I would also like to thank the people from the whist drive group, run by Pat Clarkson who paid for the new carpets and supplied the new curtains and new kitchen equipment using funds raised from their weekly meetings and the coffee morning recently held in the village hall. And thanks to Maurice who decorated the changing rooms and main pavilion.
