Extending the Main Road Ground

This picture was taken in the late 1950s with father and son Tommy and Alan Whiteside in the foreground - the view behind is of what is now Wordsworth Avenue. This is not (as was first thought) the new ground being levelled, it is actually the ground being extended sometime later on. In the distance are new houses on Lowlands Road (we think!).
