In 1953, just their second season in the Westmorland League, Bolton-le-Sands won the Third Division (in 1952 they had led the table for most of the season, but ended up finishing fourth). The Chairman, Mr Wolstenholme, marked the occasion by funding the purchase of club blazers, seen in the above photograph. The picture was taken where the Community Centre playing fields are now. The chimney pots behind belong to the row of houses along the lane next to the Packet Boat Hotel.
